# Matt Richards MBE

> Official website of Matt Richards MBE - British double Olympic champion swimmer (Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024, 4x200m freestyle relay) and Founder & CEO of Sponza, the athlete sponsorship marketplace. World champion in the 200m freestyle (2023) and multiple-time 4x200m freestyle relay world champion. Appointed MBE in 2022 for services to swimming.

Matt was born 17 December 2002 in Droitwich, Worcestershire. He represents Great Britain at the Olympics and World Championships, and Wales at Commonwealth level through his father's Welsh heritage. In Paris 2024 he took Olympic silver in the 200m freestyle by 0.02 seconds. Alongside racing he founded Sponza and co-founded Orka Management.
